About to finish up in May of 08 with a degree in marketing and a full time job offer from Miller Brewing Co. (Due to recent merger, now called MillerCoors Co). Currently, I am interning at the New Orleans Hornets and enjoying learning the various aspects of putting on a live basektball game. Looking forward to graduating and moving onto the next phase of my life. Staying in New Orleans at least until Oct or Nov. Might stay or move to a different city depending on what positions become available. Maya was a great place to go to highschool and anyone feeling bored and decided to read this would probably agree. Crying through the entire address I had to give; Mrs. Potter's stern yet empathetic looks from the sidelines; Sherri Scanlon singing "You've Got a Friend." And the (in retrospect) absolutely hideous dresses. What a blast. Sabrina Vourvoulias - Class of 1975

Guatemala and Coelgio Maya were defining moments in the lives of many of us who experienced it. Despite the turmoil that was rocking the country, and perhaps subconciously also shaping our lives, those were wonderful years, ... Years of getting to know friends, years of expanding our minds, years of trying out our new wings... Will anything in life ever be that much fun again? David Lindwall - Class of 1976

Back in 1959 ... the parents founded the Mayan School ... our classrooms were in a series of converted houses. Many of the parents taught. I recall my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Kepkey was the wife of a missionary. I was a small school .. maybe 60 kids -- and very tight-knit as well. Richard Gonzalez - Class of 1971
I am so glad I found this site but disappointed not more people I know (or remember) have posted information here. My parents had to leave Guatemala under the usual circumstances (meaning don't come back any time soon) but I grew up there and really loved the country and missed it terribly. If anyone who sees this remembers me (even briefly) please e-mail me and let me know what you are doing. I am one of those left wing liberal lawyers living in Memphis, Tennessee. If any of you ever get to Memphis or anywhere close please look me up. I have a big house in Germantown (a suburb about 30 minutes outside the city) and there is plenty of room. I am still pretty wild and crazy but a lot older. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Patten Brown - Class of 1984
I actually would have graduated in 2009, I left last year, I remember Maritza, Althea, Laura, Raquel, I stay in touch with most of them, I hope to hear from you. Fay Walker - Class of 2009
Reynaldo Chavez, where are you, man? Hello to all my classmates from 6th and 7th grade. Remember swinging on the rope in the gym at lunchtime to see who could touch the ceiling? Daniel Stokes - Class of 1990
Rodolfo Moran. Name rings a bell? I sure hope to some it does or else it seems part of my educational career was led in vain. I left Maya in 94 to go back to El Salvador. Yet I often visited and got to hear from many of the people I once has as friends. Currently, I am studying in New York and working after living in Massachusetts, El Salvador, and Africa after my Maya experience. Drop me a line, a note and let me know how you are doing. rodolfo moran - Class of 1998

I graduated in 2002! I will start off by saying hello and ending on USA, here goes. Hello folks. I would like to say that college is quite the experience, an enjoyable one to say the least. Currently I'm studying for a giant, enormous, unimaginable philosophy test. You know who else studied these kinds of things? That's right, all the great faculty present at Colegio Maya. From Mr. Aune to Mrs. Jauregui and the memorable Mr. Menendez and Mr. Bond, they all studied at higher institutions, I do too, so you could day we all stand on the same level. If you want to know how the college is then don't hesitate to visit my website at www.kollegekronicles.com. It is a fun and entertaining site that depicts the nonadventures and irrelevancies I have to tell about College here in the USA. Hugo Miller - Class of 2002

here's an interesting small world story... so i started pursuing my masters of architecture this semester at Pratt, and found out that this kid, Troy, had also graduated from Cornell engineering the same time i did, and that he was also friends with my old college roommate, AND that we were both at her wedding back in august. couple days ago in studio, this girl Sisa and i were having a conversation about bizarre combinations of friends at my party recently, so she brought up that she had found out that Troy is also good friends with a very good friend of her sister's, Mike Arellano... i was like, "WHO??? i think he went to my high school in Guatemala!" after confirming, yes, the connection did come back into a full circle. it turned out that Mike (Maya '96) had gone to Cornell for his M.Eng in civil engineering while i was there (although i never bumped into him.) tiny world... who would've imagined... Alice Bustani - Class of 1998

One of them also came to Colegio Maya to study, her name is Alexandra Anyen, she was here only for kindergarten when I was in 2nd grade. I live in Plano. Texas now. I'm having a good time and enjoying myself with all the activities I'm in like Student Council, French Club, HOSA... and for my outside of campus, I volunteer and do community service most of my time, I still play piano. I'm in Drama classes and soon will go back to Chinese dancing and Jazz. I'm the youngest freshman, some girls who also skipped already turned 14 before January 1st, sp that really doesn't count. But I'm known as the "cute, small girl". I hope I can talk to my Colegio Mayan friends/teachers again. It's been too log since the last conversation, (for me of course). Anwei Chen - Class of 2006
